❤️ Tender Sliced Beets

These vibrant ruby-red beets are naturally sweet, earthy, and packed with vitamins. They’re perfect as a side dish, snack, or salad topper — and the doctor in the image fits perfectly because beets are known to support heart health and energy!

INGREDIENTS

  • 4–5 medium fresh beets

  • 1 tsp salt

  • Water (for boiling or steaming)

  • Optional finishing touches:

    • 1 tbsp olive oil

    • 1 tbsp lemon juice or apple cider vinegar

    • Salt & pepper

    • Fresh herbs (dill, parsley, or thyme)

🍳 INSTRUCTIONS

1️⃣ Prep the Beets

  • Wash beets thoroughly to remove dirt.

  • Cut off the greens and roots, leaving a small piece attached (this prevents the beets from bleeding too much during cooking).

  • You can peel them after cooking — it’s much easier!

2️⃣ Choose Cooking Method

🔥 Method A: Boiling (Most Common & Easy)

  1. Place whole beets in a large pot.

  2. Add enough water to cover them completely.

  3. Add 1 tsp salt.

  4. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer 35–50 minutes depending on size.

  5. Test doneness by piercing with a fork — it should slide in easily.

🔥 Method B: Steaming (Best for Preserving Color & Nutrients)
