2 cloves garlic, minced
-
½ tsp Italian seasoning
-
Pinch of salt + pepper
For the Steak Topping
-
3 cups cooked steak, sliced thin
-
(leftover steak, frozen steak strips, or shaved ribeye all work)
-
-
1/3 cup sliced mushrooms
-
8–10 thin slices green bell pepper
-
1/4 cup sliced onion
-
1 tbsp olive oil or butter
-
Salt + pepper to taste
For the Cheese Layer
-
1 to 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella, provolone, or Swiss
-
Optional: 2 tbsp grated Parmesan for extra melt + flavor
⭐ Instructions
1. Prepare the Garlic Toast (5 minutes)
-
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
-
Mix softened butter, garlic, Italian seasoning, and salt/pepper in a small bowl.
-
Spread generously over both sides of the bread slices.
-
Place sliced bread on a baking sheet and toast in oven 5–7 minutes, until lightly golden but not fully crispy.
-
This prevents the bread from becoming soggy when topped.
-
2. Cook the Veggies (5 minutes)
-
Heat olive oil or butter in a pan over medium heat.
-
Add the onions, mushrooms, and bell peppers.
-
Sauté for 3–4 minutes until softened and fragrant.
-
Season lightly with salt & pepper.
3. Warm the Steak (2 minutes)
-
Add sliced cooked steak to the pan with vegetables.
-
Toss everything together for 1–2 minutes to heat through.
-
Remove from heat.
Tip: If using raw shaved steak, cook it 3–4 minutes first, then add veggies.
