Full Soul Food Plate Recipe

1. Baked Ham

Ingredients:

  • 1 fully cooked bone-in ham (8–10 lb)

  • 1 cup brown sugar

  • 1/2 cup honey

  • 1/4 cup Dijon mustard

  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar

  • 1 tsp ground cloves

  • Pineapple slices or juice (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (163°C). Place ham in a roasting pan, cut side down.

  2. In a saucepan, combine brown sugar, honey, mustard, vinegar, and cloves. Bring to a simmer.

  3. Score the surface of the ham in a diamond pattern. Brush half of the glaze over it.

  4. Bake uncovered for 1.5 to 2 hours, brushing with more glaze every 30 minutes.

  5. Optional: broil for 5 minutes at the end for caramelization. Rest 15 mins before slicing.
