⭐ Soft Ginger Cookies With Vanilla Frosting

🧾 Ingredients

For the Ginger Cookies

  • 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour

  • 2 teaspoons ground ginger

  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • ½ teaspoon ground cloves

  • ½ teaspoon baking soda

  • ½ teaspoon baking powder

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • ¾ cup unsalted butter, softened

  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 1 large egg

  • 1 tablespoon molasses

  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

For the Frosting

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened

  • 2 cups powdered sugar

  • 1–2 tablespoons milk or cream

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • A pinch of salt

  • Christmas sprinkles

1. Make the Cookie Dough

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together: flour, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.

  2. In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy (about 2 minutes).

  3. Add the egg, molasses, and vanilla. Mix until smooth.

  4. Add the dry ingredients and mix just until combined — do not overmix.

  5. Chill dough 15–20 minutes (optional but helps shape and texture).
