Salmon, Sausage & Shrimp with Jalapeño: A Bold Surf-and-Turf Skillet with a Spicy Kick

Introduction:

If you love big flavor and you’re not afraid of a little heat, this
Salmon, Sausage & Shrimp with Jalapeño skillet is about to become your new obsession. It’s a
surf-and-turf style dinner that combines flaky salmon, tender shrimp, and smoky sausage—all cooked together with jalapeño,
garlic, and butter for a dish that tastes like something you’d order at a seafood spot.

The balance is what makes it special: salmon brings richness, shrimp brings sweetness and quick-cooking tenderness, and
sausage adds smoky depth that makes the whole skillet taste “seasoned” without a long ingredient list. Jalapeño cuts through
the richness with fresh heat, while lemon brightens everything at the end so it doesn’t feel heavy.

This is also a great dinner for busy nights because it comes together fast—about 35 minutes from start to finish.
Serve it over rice, mashed potatoes, pasta, or even with crusty bread to soak up the sauce. It’s bold, satisfying,
and absolutely weeknight-friendly.

Ingredients:

Protein:

  • 2 salmon fillets (about 1–1 1/4 lb / 450–560g total), skin on or off
  • 1 lb (450g) shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 10–12 oz (280–340g) smoked sausage or andouille, sliced

Jalapeño + aromatics:

  • 1–2 jalapeños, sliced (remove seeds for less heat)
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 small onion, sliced (optional)
  • 2 tbsp chopped parsley or cilantro (optional garnish)

Seasoning:

  • 1 tsp paprika (smoked paprika recommended)
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp salt (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional, extra heat)

For the sauce:

  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1/3 cup (80ml) chicken broth (or seafood stock)
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice (plus extra wedges for serving)

Optional add-ins:

  • 1 bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 cup corn kernels
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes

Instructions:

1) Prep the seafood

  1. Pat salmon and shrimp dry (helps browning and prevents watery sauce).
  2. Season salmon on both sides with salt, pepper, and paprika.
  3. Season shrimp with a pinch of salt, pepper, and paprika (lightly).

2) Brown the sausage
