Introduction
The key to a great pizza burger is building it like a pizza: a flavorful base (seasoned patty), a bold sauce, a melty
cheese layer, then toppings. To keep it from getting soggy, toast the buns and warm the sauce separately. Finish under
the broiler (or in an air fryer) so the mozzarella bubbles and the pepperoni crisps a little—pure comfort food.
Ingredients
Burgers
- 1 lb (450 g) ground beef (80/20 recommended)
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1 tbsp grated parmesan (optional, extra “pizza” flavor)
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce (optional)
Pizza Toppings
- 4 burger buns (brioche, sesame, or classic)
- 3/4 to 1 cup pizza sauce (or marinara)
- 1 1/2 cups (150 g) shredded mozzarella (or provolone)
- 20–30 pepperoni slices
- 1/2 cup sautéed mushrooms (optional)
- 1/2 cup sliced black olives (optional)
- 1/2 cup diced bell pepper (optional)
- 1/4 cup sliced jalapeños (optional)
- Fresh basil (optional finish)
Garlic Butter for Buns
- 3 tbsp butter, melted
- 1 clove garlic, minced (or 1/2 tsp garlic powder)
- 1 tsp parsley (optional)
