Ingredients

  • 12–14 oz (340–400 g) kielbasa, sliced into 1/2-inch rounds
  • 1 lb (450 g) baby potatoes (or Yukon gold), diced small (about 1/2-inch)
  • 3–4 cups green cabbage, thinly sliced (about 1/2 small head)
  • 1 small onion, thinly sliced (optional but tasty)
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika (optional but recommended)
  • 1/2 tsp salt (adjust to taste)
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/3 cup (80 ml) chicken broth (or water) for quick steaming
  • 1 tsp apple cider vinegar (or lemon juice) to brighten at the end
  • Optional garnish: chopped parsley, green onions, or a pinch of red pepper flakes

Optional Add-Ins

  • Carrots: 1/2 cup thin slices (adds sweetness)
  • Bell pepper: 1/2 cup strips (adds color)
  • Mustard: 1 tsp Dijon stirred in at the end (great with kielbasa)
