🍽️ Hamburger Potato Casserole

Creamy, cheesy, hearty, and budget-friendly — this Hamburger Potato Casserole is everything you want in a cozy family dinner. Layers of potatoes, seasoned ground beef, and melted cheese baked into perfection. It’s the kind of dish that disappears fast!


INGREDIENTS

For the Casserole

  • 1 lb (450 g) ground beef

  • 1 medium onion, diced

  • 3–4 cups thinly sliced potatoes (Yukon Gold or Russet recommended)

  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup (or cream of chicken)

  • 1 cup milk

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar or mozzarella cheese (or a mix)

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp onion powder

  • 1 tsp paprika

  • Salt & pepper to taste

  • Optional: 1 cup shredded cheese for topping

  • Optional: 1 tbsp butter (for greasing the dish)


🍳 INSTRUCTIONS

1️⃣ Prep Your Ingredients

  • Peel and slice potatoes thinly (about ⅛ inch thick).

  • Dice the onion.


2️⃣ Cook the Ground Beef

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, cook your ground beef until browned.

  2. Add diced onion and sauté until softened.

  3. Season with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.

  4. Drain excess fat.

  5. Set aside.


3️⃣ Make the Creamy Sauce

  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together:

    • Cream of mushroom soup

    • Milk

    • A pinch of salt & pepper

  2. Set aside.


4️⃣ Layer the Casserole
