❤️ Ruby Red Velvet Pound Cake

Moist, rich, and strikingly beautiful — this deep red pound cake blends the classic flavor of red velvet with the dense, buttery texture of traditional pound cake. Topped with a vanilla glaze or cream cheese drizzle, it’s perfect for holidays, Valentine’s Day, or any day you want to impress.


Ingredients

For the Cake:

  • 1 cup unsalted butter (2 sticks), softened

  • ½ cup vegetable oil

  • 2 ½ cups granulated sugar

  • 5 large eggs (room temperature)

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour (sifted)

  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • ½ tsp salt

  • 1 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder

  • 1 cup buttermilk (room temperature)

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1 tsp almond extract (optional)

  • 1 tbsp red food coloring (liquid or gel)

  • 1 tsp white vinegar

  • ½ tsp baking soda

For the Vanilla Glaze (optional):

  • 1 cup powdered sugar

  • 2–3 tbsp milk or heavy cream

  • ½ tsp vanilla extract


‍ Instructions

Step 1: Preheat & Prepare Pan

  • Preheat oven to 325°F (163°C).

  • Grease and flour a 10-inch bundt pan or loaf pans.


Step 2: Cream Butter, Oil & Sugar

  1. In a large bowl, cream together butter, oil, and sugar for 4–5 minutes until very light and fluffy.


Step 3: Add Eggs

  1. Beat in eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
